Huw Turner
BA Hons Dip Arch AIA
Born in Bridgend, Wales, Huw studied architecture at South Bank University in London. Between 1988 and 1990 he worked for Eva Jiricna on projects for the fashion designer Joseph Ettegdui, and between 1990-1991 for the Richard Rogers Partnership on projects including the masterplan for Potsdamer Platz, Berlin.
From 1991 until 2000, Huw worked for Foster and Partners, becoming an associate in 1996. Major experience at Foster and Partners included work on the landmark ecological towers for Commerzbank in Frankfurt, and Arag in Dusseldorf, and the competition and design development of the Reichstag in Berlin.
Huw was project architect for the new European headquarters for
Electronic Arts, which was completed in 2000.
Huw migrated to Australia in 2000, and worked for Hassell architects where he was the design team leader for the award winning Liverpool-Parramatta Transitway Project, prior to establishing collinsandturner in 2002.
Huw has had teaching appointments at Sydney University and the University of Technology, and has lectured in Australia, the United Kingdom and Sweden.
