Stage 1 competition entry for a new 10 storey campus building on Broadway in Sydney.
The design proposes a series of highly flexible and efficient column free floorplates, anticipating the inevitability of significant changes in the need of the faculty over the life of the building. Vertical circulation and facilities are positioned in a satellite core to the north of the site.
The teaching areas and the cores are connected by a dramatic organic formed atrium, around the perimeter of which are positioned break out and casual meeting areas, and pockets of internal landscape.
The proposal incorporates renewable energy initiatives including a double skin facade to Broadway the integrates micro-turbine wind generation.
